If you buy the book, Amazon will mark your review as "verified," meaning that you actually purchased the book you are reviewing.  Amazon gives verified reviews higher points when they compute where to list a book in search results.  So, if you are willing to spend $2.99 for the e-book, it will greatly help our rankings and be very much appreciated.

YES!  We created this short sample because we know everyone is busy, especially now during the Christmas holidays. However, we structured the sample to be highly representative of Sunset Years overall.  We also priced the e-book at $2.99 to make it easy for people to buy and read the full book if they like the free sample. 

• BE HONEST!  If you think the book merits 5 stars go for it. But, if you don't like it, be honest about that too and say why.  
• TALK ABOUT HOW READING THE BOOK MADE YOU FEEL!  Were there any poems you especially liked? Did you experience any of the things described in the poems? Do you agree with the philosophy of life described in the book?  Did you like the way the poems were written? Do you think these stories accurately represent our generation's approach to aging?
• AMAZON WILL ELIMINATE YOUR REVIEW IF IT THINKS  YOU ARE BIASED BECAUSE WE KNOW EACH OTHER! It's better not to say we are friends, relatives, neighbors, etc. in your review. Amazon reviewers won't believe we asked you to be honest.  Amazon will eliminate any reviews it thinks weren't objective.  

Once you go live with a book, Amazon immediately starts tracking the number of views, reviews and purchases your book receives.  We knew with the Christmas holiday that everyone would be busy. So, we are not going live with our book until December 31, 2022.  This pushes the period when Amazon will be tracking first 30 days results into January of 2023.  Conversely, we wanted to provide our reader/reviewers with plenty of time to review the free sample. That's why we are sending it out now even though formal reviews won't be possible on Amazon until January 1, 2023. We will make sure that when the morning of January 1st arrives, everything will be ready for you to post your review on the Amazon website.

 I loved my grandfather, Frank, who I am named after. He was a very important part of my life growing up. But he died when I was fourteen.  When I finally got old enough to want to know more about his life, all I had left were a few family stories and some faded memories.  

I wrote SUNSET YEARS because Diane and I know it will be the same for our grandkids.  By the time they mature enough to want to really know more about our lives, we will be long gone. SUNSET YEARS is our way of leaving a record of who we were and how we lived for them to have when they are old enough to care about their family history.

I am publishing SUNSET YEARS because Diane and I love the life we have in retirement living in The Villages, Florida.  We are thankful every day and we think many other people our age share our positive, grateful attitude towards life in their senior years. In that respect, publishing SUNSET YEARS is a celebration of life for us and the many seniors like us who are living out our last phase still striving, dreaming, and seeking to achieve.
