SUNSET YEARS BOOKS CHRONICLE THE REINVENTION OF AGING

Good news!  Our two newest books are what Amazon calls 'short reads.'  LOOKING FOR AMERICA is only 45 pages long.  YOU'RE STILL THE ONE is 70 pages of poems.  You should be able to easily read each book in less than an hour.  

We are trying out this new short read book format specifically because, in the age of the internet, society as a whole is becoming acclimated to getting information in small but intense, high content, high impact bite-sized formats. That's the goal of these two books - a lot to think about packed into a small amount to consume. We hope you'll like the approach.

Because these books are short reads, they are only $5.  That makes them ideal gifts anytime you want to do something nice for your spouse, your friend, or yourself without straining your bank account.

Letting your partner know you still love them is a pretty darned good message to deliver.  Where you take it from there depends on you!

LOOKING FOR AMERICA will help you refocus on what's important and what's not.  It will help you understand how lucky we are to be a part of this wonderful, majestic physical place we call America. That blessing trumps all the petty dominance struggles that seem to dominate today's American popular culture.  Once you stop grinding your teeth at night and tossing and turning in frustration about what the "other side" is doing, you might very well find yourself living calmer, more affirming days and experiencing more restful nights.

The love poems in STILL THE ONE were originally published as a chapter in the first Sunset Years book. There are a total of one hundred and seven poems on a wide variety of topics in the first book. When we did poetry readings there were always so many requests to present poems from the chapter of love poems that we decided to break them out as a separate book altogether in STILL THE ONE. 

STILL THE ONE is very different in character from the first book. The new short read book was typeset by a graphic artist in the Philippines who specializes in the visual design of poetry books. She laid the words out on the page in a way that makes them graphic art in their own right.  There are also extensive new introduction and concluding observation sections in STILL THE ONE.   These changes give the new short read edition a completely different look, feel and impact than the first version.   If you already have our first book, you'll likely find yourself picking up STILL THE ONE when you want to focus your thoughts exclusively on the topic of love or to tell someone else how much you love them.
