You are at the scene of a crime. Someone has been murdered. A Police Inspector is investigating. You and your friends are suspects. One of you is a murderer! And it's all happening right here in The Villages.
Goodlife is teaming up with the Colony Rec Center team to put on an interactive murder mystery plays. Registration will open up online through the Recreation online system for these events.
It Happened in The Villages Murder Mystery Game! is an interactive live action event played out in front of an audience that puts you at the scene of a murder. Edition III introduces a completely new set of twists, turns, plot complications, and intrigue from Edition I which we first put on July 2022 and sold out in two hours. If you participated in our Edition I and II play series, come back and experience this new version. If this is your first-time hearing about our program, come and see what all the excitement is about.
Inspector Lance of the Wildwood Police is onsite investigating. Over the four acts of the play, Lance questions suspects to find out who had the motive, means and opportunity to commit this murder. In the end, he unmasks and arrests the killer.
Just like in real life, suspect witness statements are not the only source of information. Insights and data come in from the Coroner’s Office, the Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) unit, and eyewitnesses.
Whether you are upfront playing one of the roles, or in the audience discussing the suspects with seatmates and voting, you are actively engaged in trying to identify the murderer.
And, oh those Villagers! The characters participate in Villages clubs, drive their golf carts on well-known trails, eat in popular restaurants at the squares and dabble in Villages real estate deals. There is even a surprising amount of hanky-panky going on considering everyone is way, way over 55.
