Goodlife is teaming up with The Villages FL District Government Recreation team to put on Death of a Socialite as a free interactive murder mystery play at the Colony Recreation Center on November 12, 2024. Registration will open up online through the Recreation online system for this event in late October.

Death of a Socialite is based on a large-scale immersive murder mystery play approach we have used to entertain hundreds of residents in the real-life senior retirement community that our fictional Sunset Years retirement community is based upon.
Senior Inspector Lance of the Wildwood Police is onsite investigating Emery Landon's murder. Lance questions you and your friends to find out which of you had the motive, means and opportunity to commit this murder. The Coroner’s Office, the Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) unit, and eyewitnesses provide additional details. In the end, Lance unmasks and arrests the killer.
Whether you are playing one of the formal character roles upfront, or in the audience voting and discussing clues with seatmates, you are actively engaged in trying to identify the murderer.
What if your favorite murder mystery book was also a play you could stage at home to entertain your friends? What if you could take that idea even further and turn it into a game where participants competed to discover who the murderer was and how it was done? Now you can!
Starting in November of 2024 you will be able to purchase Death of a Socialite on Amazon. You will be able to read it cover to cover conventionally as a book. However, all the script, staging directions, handouts and instructions you need to experience the story in play/game form will also be included in the package.
So, what are you waiting for? Emery Landon has been murdered. One of these characters is the killer. It’s up to you to find out who!
